Sahel Reporter published with highlights from Sudan

Read our latest newsletter, which comes from Country Director Salih Majid.  It highlights two water and livelihood-related projects from Sudan.  The first covers our new sand dam water project that we have piloted in South Kordofan. The second reports on our successful fishermen's project in the Red Sea State. Here, the provision of motorised boats, fishing nets and ice boxes has transformed the lives of poor Beja families who scrape a living from the Arba'at delta.  Click here to read it.

Expansion into the Abyei livestock corridor, western Sudan

With funding from Humanity United, SOS Sahel is pleased to announce the expansion of its conflict reduction work into a key livestock corridor in western Kordofan, which borders South Sudan (Abyei) and Darfur.  Here, we have begun working with Misseriyya pastoralists, Dinka farmers, local government and the Native Administration to find a low-cost, long-lasting way to reduce tension at community level and reduce the risk of armed conflict recurring.
